The American Civil Liberties Union has obtained documents published in a 2009 and 2010 handbook that state that the Internal Revenue Service is legally able to read emails because “Internet users do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy in such communications.” As more and more financial transactions are conducted over the Internet, what does this mean for our privacy and the fourth amendment in this day and age?
