AB 460, a bill filed by California assemblyman Tom Ammiano, would criminalize the act of health insurers not providing infertility treatment to same-sex couples. Under current state law, California requires group plans to provide coverage for infertility treatment — with the exception of in vitro fertilization — to couples who have tried for one year to have a child without conception.
