Preventable chronic conditions plague Medicaid population

The correlation between poverty and certain health conditions has been well documented but new research shows that many of the diseases that are straining the Medicaid system are preventable. The actions that lead to obesity, diabetes and diseases brought on by smoking are being willingly engaged in by some Medicaid recipients and in turn financially squeezing the system established to assist them.
