Three years on, states still struggle with health care law messaging

Three years after PPACA was made law, the American public now knows even less about health care reform than it did before, according to a new poll from the Kaiser Family Health Foundation. State Medicaid expansion is a huge part of the law’s implementation currently, but nobody really knows how it will affect their own state. Most people like various elements of the law they can identify, but then turn around and say they don’t like the law itself. Forty percent of people think the federal government will set up death panels, even though it will not. How did it come to this? An extremely complicated law doesn’t help, but overall, there has simply been more energy put into fighting over the law itself than in fighting to make people understand what the law really does.
