Some think the number of people on disability is the result of demographics: more women in the work force who can claim disability benefits and the baby boomers who are getting older. But the Social Security Administration’s chief actuary has put together a graph that shows disability numbers might have more to do with the health of the job market. However, demographics will help keep in check the number of people claiming disability as more and more boomers shift over to Social Security benefits.
