Why working from home is the worst of both worlds

Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the country for the fifth straight year. Some 28.8 percent of adult Texans lack health care coverage, the highest uninsured rate in the country, and the highest rate yet recorded by Gallup and Healthways since they began tracking insurance coverage in January 2008. Texas now has led the country in uninsured rates for the fifth consecutive year. The second-highest uninsured rate is currently held by Louisiana, at 24.0 percent. Both states have ardently opposed health care reform. Meanwhile, Massachusetts — where Governor Mitt Romney signed off on a health care reform package similar in many regards to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act — currently has the nation’s lowest uninsured rate at 4.5 percent.
