John Kasich, Rick Scott and Chris Christie are just three high-profile Republican governors who have seemingly reversed their opposition to the Affordable Care Act and accepted federal money to expand Medicare coverage. Or have they? All three still maintain that the ACA is wrong for America, and they oppose it on political grounds. But the brutal truth is that if they don’t take this federal money, then it will be money from their own state constituents that ends up funding Medicare elsewhere. Even for the die-hards, this is an offer almost impossible to refuse.
