Obama to press for stopgap sequester fix

In order to avoid deep, automatic cuts in domestic and defense spending that are set to take effect in 10 days, President Obama, flanked by firefighters and emergency personnel that stand to lose their jobs due to the sequester, is holding a press conference pushing for a stopgap measure that will delay the sequester until the end of the year by employing alternative spending cuts and tax hikes. It appears all Washington is able to do these days is stop the bleeding rather than fixing the wound.
