Walmart bails on Obamacare—sticks taxpayers with employee healthcare costs

Walmart responded to criticism of how it treats workers a few years ago by developing a special health plan for part-time workers. The company later supported efforts to pass the bills that created the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) — Obamacare. Now Walmart says all employees hired after Feb. 1, 2012, who can be classified as part-time workers will have to get their health coverage from the new PPACA exchanges.
