This year’s Schwab Impact conference is expected to feature the latest in tech and social media, including mobile apps. In June, the first version of a new Schwab Advisor Center app for the iPhone was announced, and last Friday the new Schwab Advisor Center app for the iPad became available for download.

In another use of new media, @Schwab4RIAs tweeted a link to Schwab Advisor Services Vice President Nick Georgis’ “Tackling Practice Management Challenges” video blog for independent advisors.

“It’s been a really exciting year in the transition of our practice management into true consulting and creating immersive consulting programs that our clients have participated in in ways they never have before,” Georgis said in the video interview. “In the past, we provided information and knowledge about topics; this year we decided to help clients take that insight and move it to action. Six hundred of our clients participated in these multi-week programs, and the feedback has been incredible, both on strategic planning and managing client profitability but also on succession planning.”

On its crowded agenda in Chicago, Schwab has scheduled a social media Q&A on Nov. 14 at 2:15 p.m. (Wealth marketing consultant April Rudin of The Rudin Group noted in a tweet of her own on Friday that social media is still a flashpoint for nervous advisors with compliance concerns: “Sadly, the advisors with the most questions aren’t tweeting!” she wrote.)

The @Schwab4RIAs team will be at Schwab Impact’s Booth 740.
