Greg Smith made headlines when his op-ed, “Why I am leaving Goldman Sachs,” appeared in the New York Times in March. Making headlines now is Smith’s book, “Why I left Goldman Sachs: A Wall Street story,” that hit store shelves Oct. 22. Critics argue that the book is short on evidence of the “toxic culture” Smith mentioned in the op-ed. Others feel the book is not an indictment of Goldman, but rather a continuation of the op-ed, giving a fuller explanation of Smith’s decision to leave.
