Fed open to linking rate hike to economic gauge

The Federal Reserve said it would keep interest rates low for the next three years, but that might change. In the Fed’s most recent policy meeting, most members agreed that linking the future interest rate increase would be useful if linked to a numeric target, such as a level of unemployment. However, they have not agreed on what the economic target would be.
