“Emily is the perfect match for United Capital,” said Joe Duran, chief executive officer of United Capital, in a statement. “Her experience and knowledge speak for themselves. Sanders and Malcolm will continue to serve as partners and managing directors of Sanders Financial Management, now a division of United Capital Financial Advisers.

In 2009, Sanders was named one of the “Top 50 Women in Wealth Management” in the U.S. by Wealth Manager. Prior to founding Sanders Financial Management, she served as assistant treasurer at BellSouth Corp., where she and staff managed corporate and pension fixed income investments. “We are confident that our combination of strategic, leadership and planning skills will be of great benefit to United Capital, and we are all thrilled about joining the firm,” Sanders said in a statement. “Since starting my career, I’ve witnessed significant changes that impact the entire industry, and I feel that United Capital is positioned to be the new leader in our industry.”
