Mergent Index Updates Mergent, a leading provider of business and financial information on global publicly listed companies, also develops and licenses equity, fixed income and commodity index and investment products. In addition, Mergent subsidiaries provide services in independent equity research, index calculation and administration and tools for portfolio building and measurement.

Products based on Mergent’s Dividend Achievers indices, for example, have over $11.6 billion in assets under management and are offered by major investment management firms worldwide, including the Vanguard Group and Invesco.

Earlier this year, the Dividend Achievers’ reconstitution resulted in a slight shift in sector allocations, with the largest differences in the utilities, materials and consumer-discretionary sectors. The 2012 Broad Dividend Achievers Index has new sector weights (see chart, below).
