Obama is already blowing his second chance at selling health care reform (Atlantic)

If the Obama administration is hoping the debate over health care reform is now over after the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision to uphold the law in its near entirety, then it will be disappointed. The Republicans will no doubt continue the debate for the next four months until the election. ACA opponents are already aggressively portraying the law as a “middle-class tax increase” introduced by Obama. A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that support for the law is rising since the Supreme Court decision. Journalist Geoffrey Cowley points out, “polls consistently show that more Americans oppose the Affordable Care Act than support it—not because they’ve evaluated and rejected it but because they don’t understand it.”
