Jeffrey Leeds has succeeded Wesley Edens as chairman of the board of Brookdale Senior Life Inc., the company says.
Brookdale, Nashville, Tenn. (NYSE:BKD), runs 647 senior living communities in 35 states.
Bill Sheriff continues to be Brookdale’s chief executive officer.
Leeds has been a member of the Brookdale board since November 2005. He retired from a post as chief financial officer of GreenPoint Financial Corp., New York, in 2004. He has had experience with bank asset and liability management, proprietary trading, following the money markets as an economist.
