Which City Might Try to Ban Huge Sodas Next? (The Atlantic)

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has put forth a plan to ban the sale of sodas larger than 16 ounces in the city. This is not Bloomberg’s first public health initiative that has been met with a flat reception. However, his other proposals, trans-fat bans, caloric listings on menus and smoking bans, have been ahead of the national curve—and in some cases, set it—for other cities, states and countries that have similar policies. By following the timing of municipal adoption of the three proposals, it could be reasonable to guess that Seattle will be next city to ban the sale of sodas larger than 16 ounces.
