MassMutual Recognized for Diversity

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) was included in DiversityInc’s 25 Noteworthy Companies list in for 2012. The recognition is one of myriad different accolades and honors the mutual company has recently received for their dedication to diversity and inclusion.

DivseristyInc., a consultancy which publishes two websites and one magazine in addition to facilitating events, strives to act as a reliable source for diversity management while fulfilling its vision of bringing “education and clarity to the business benefits of diversity.”

MassMutual was recognized by DiversityInc. for its implementation of cross-cultural mentoring as well as its resource groups and the impact that they have had on the development of talent as well as the fostering of productive community relationships. Resource groups or affinity groups are employee requested and formed to provide support for any subset of employees from racial minorities to those who are physically or developmentally disabled.

“Our work to increase the diversity of our workforce and sales force is becoming increasingly lauded. We continue to make strides to broaden our inclusive business practices that embrace and leverage business diversity of employees from all walks of life.”

Mass Mutual was also recognized by the National Association of Female Executive’s and named one of their “Top 50 Companies for Executive Women; 2011 Working Mother named MassMutual one of their “100 Best Companies”; The Human Rights Campaign Foundation ranked them on their Corporate Equality Index; Hispanic Business Media named them one of their “Boardroom Elite”; Eleanor Williams, assistant vice president and counsel was named one of Black Enterprise Magazine’s “40 Rising Stars 40 and Under and Michael Munoz, a diversity and inclusion consultant in MassMutual’s Human Resources Department was recognized by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility as a young executive who has shown strong leadership qualities.
