Instead of a manila folder, consumers can use technology to keep track of their health insurance information and medical bills. Simplee is a website that organizes health insurance information into one dashboard where users can manage claims and pay medical bills, too. The site does require entering health care information—including login information to providers’ websites—but the company says it is hosted on “one of the most secure hosting facilities in the United States.” Simplee is compatible with many health providers, and has a request form for those not on the list yet. The inspiration for the site came from Tomar Shoval after his family became ill and he had to sort through all of the medical paperwork. “I couldn’t believe such an important aspect of people’s lives, one that is also costly, is so inefficient and unclear,” Shoval said.
