Boehner: Keeping Any Parts of Obama Health Law ‘Unacceptable’ (The Hill)

The first measure Republicans brought to the floor after taking a majority in the House was a bill to repeal PPACA in its entirety. “We voted to fully repeal the president’s health-care law as one of our first acts as a new House majority, and our plan remains to repeal the law in its entirety,” said House Speaker John Boehner, R- Ohio. “Anything short of that is unacceptable.” Republicans are pushing the party to steer clear of replacing the law with single, unified proposal that could open them up to charges of hypocrisy. “I agree with what I’ve heard come from leadership, it’s something I’ve been arguing also for two and a half years, that Republicans should go into a formerly smoke-filled room and put together a great big health-care policy to replace ObamaCare when and if that time should come,” said Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa.
