New Hire Roundup: Harris Returns to Davis Polk; Citi Private Bank Welcomes Mohammed

This week in new hires, Davis Polk welcomed back Kim Harris and Nevada Mohammed joined Citi Private Bank’s Vancouver office.

Also, Gary Crane joined Retirement Revolution and Jim McGovern joined OneAmerica’s American United Life Insurance Co.

Kim Harris Returns to Davis Polk

Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP announced that Kim Harris, a senior government lawyer who most recently served in the White House as principal deputy counsel to the president and deputy assistant to the president, will rejoin the firm’s litigation department as a partner. Her practice will focus on advising institutions and individuals in investigations by the U.S. Congress, the Department of Justice, the SEC and other government agencies.

From 1997 to 2009, Harris practiced in Davis Polk’s litigation department, representing major corporations in all aspects of regulatory and criminal investigations. She was elected partner in 2007 and left the firm in early 2009 to become senior counsel to the assistant attorney general of the Department of Justice’s criminal division. She left that position in 2010 to move to the White House.

Nevada Mohammed Joins Citi Private Bank’s Vancouver Office

Citi Private Bank announced that Nevada Mohammed has joined the firm’s Vancouver office as director and investment counselor. He will report to Stacy Devine, investment counselor head, Canada and Midwest U.S. regions, Citi Private Bank.

Mohammed joins from HSBC in Vancouver, where he had been an investment counselor working with high-net-worth clients since 2008. Prior to HSBC, he held roles in Vancouver with Fidelity Investments; in the U.K. with Coutts and Co. and Lloyd’s Private Banking; and in Toronto with TD Securities, where he began his banking career in 1993.

Retirement Revolution Names Gary Crane Business Development Officer

Retirement Revolution announced Friday that it has named Gary Crane as business development officer in charge of sales for its U.S. northeast territory, effective May 1.

Prior to joining, Crane developed complex design services for retirement plans. He also has expertise in providing technical consulting services for plan designs from previous positions held.

OneAmerica Names Jim McGovern to Head Employee Benefits Sales and Service

American United Life Insurance Co., a OneAmerica company, announced Tuesday that it has named Jim McGovern vice president of national sales and service for its employee benefits business. McGovern had previously been regional manager for Cigna inIndianapolis.

McGovern brings more than 20 years of experience in sales, underwriting, marketing and management. In his new role, he will lead efforts to focus on voluntary benefits at the worksite, including the addition of permanent life insurance.
