Annuity Postcards Are Deceptive, State CFO Says (Sun Sentinel)

Florida officials filed a cease-desist order against Unlimited Fulfillment LLC for sending postcard solicitations to citizens informing them that their annuity “has reached the end of its surrender period” and advising them to take action. Florida CFO Jeff Atwater said the postcards are misleading because Unlimited has no information on the status of those investments or if the recipients even have annuities. State investigators found the Ohio-based marketing company was just trying to generate business for their clients – third-party insurance and investment salespeople. Unlimited’s president Matthew Dilday said he was not aware of the state’s concerns, and that the solicitations were guided and approved by its clients. Anyone who receives the postcards is asked to call the Florida Department of Financial Services’ consumer hotline at 877-693-5236.
