The Senior Health Insurance Company of Pennsylvania (SHIP) has set up a long-term care insurance (LTCI) data analysis firm, Fuzion Analytics L.L.C.

Fuzion, Carmel, Ind., says it hopes to help clients analyze data in ways that will help them detect fraudulent claims, improve their current performance and make more accurate predictions about how their operations will perform.

Brian Wegner, the president of Fuzion, is also the chief executive officer of SHIP, a company formed from the operations of Conseco Senior Health Insurance Company.

Wegner also has been the owner of a strategic planning consulting firm and the chief information officer at Fortis Healthcare, a unit of Assurant Inc., New York (NYSE:AIZ).

Other SHIP veterans at Fuzion include Ginger Darrough, the senior vice president of analytics; Paul Lorentz, the senior vice president for finance; and Patrick Carmody, the general counsel.

SHIP has formed Fuzion as a stand-alone limited liability corporation to help market its data analysis experties to other LTCI carriers.

Fuzion showed up to market its services earlier this month at the ILTCI long-term care insurance conference in Las Vegas.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article described the status of the Fuzion executives incorrectly. The Fuzion executives still work for SHIP.
