Putnam Names Sipple to Head Investment Product Management/Development
Putnam Investments announced Tuesday that it has named Scott Sipple as head of investment product management and development, responsible for overseeing the firm’s equity, fixed income and global asset allocation product management and development teams. In addition to his new role, Sipple, with more than 25 years of industry experience, will continue to oversee Putnam’s strategic relationship function, and continue to report to William T. Connolly, head of global distribution.
Robert L. Reynolds, president and CEO, indicated that corporate marketing, advertising and sports sponsorship programs will continue to be spearheaded by Mark McKenna, and its strategic communications efforts, including public and community relations, will continue to be led by Jon Goldstein. McKenna and Goldstein will now report directly to Reynolds, who noted that Jeffrey R. Carney, former head of marketing and product, will be leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities and that his role will not be replaced.
Citi Private Bank Announces Mark Hewson Joins Foreign Exchange Team
Citi Private Bank announced March 6 that Mark Hewson has joined the firm as director and foreign exchange investment specialist. He is based in San Francisco and will report to Francois Du Pasquier, managing director, head of foreign exchange and commodities.
He joins from Wells Fargo in San Francisco, where he was senior vice president and national sales manager. Before joining Wells in 2007, Hewson was regional sales director and risk solutions consultant at Travelex in Los Angeles; prior to that, he held senior FX sales positions at Bank of the West and Ruesch International.
Former DOL Assistant Secretary Campbell Joins Drinker Biddle
Drinker Biddle announced recently that former assistant secretary of labor for employee benefits and head of the Employee Benefits Security Administration Bradford Campbell (left) has joined the firm. His practice is concentrated in employee benefits and ERISA litigation, specializing in ERISA Title I issues, including fiduciary conduct and prohibited transactions.
Campbell previously held a number of other senior positions in the government, including deputy assistant secretary of labor for employee benefits, senior legislative officer for the Department of Labor, legislative director for then-Congressman Ernest Fletcher, and senior legislative assistant for then-congressman, later Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Cox.
Symetra Gains Two
Kimberly Branch has joined Symetra Investment Services Inc. as chief marketing officer and John Forrest has joined as director of business development. Both executives report to SIS President Richard Moran.
Branch was most recently president of 4WARD Financial Marketing. Forrest will be responsible for relationship management, advisor development and sales management, and joins SIS from Lincoln Financial Network.
