MetLife's MMI Launches New Resources for Seniors

There will now be a plethora of updated, free resources to assist consumers in maneuvering through old age.

The MetLife Mature Market Institute (MMI), MetLife’s research and consumer education center on aging which is celebrating its 15-year anniversary in 2012 has culled new materials on finance, retirement, aging and care decisions.

The site will now have over 30 publications available for free download.

“We have gathered a wealth of information related to aging, retirement and caregiving over the past 15 years, and we are pleased that we can now share this knowledge in a readily-accessible and easy-to-understand way,” said Sandra Timmermann, Ed.D., director of the MMI.

The new resources will resources on the site include:

The Essentials: which are broad-based publications that assist users with issues such as elder abuse; Social Security problems; the myriad of legal matters that arise as one ages and fall prevention.

Guides and Tools: which provide resources to help people navigate the intricate nuances of the evolving health care system; coping with a disability; dealing with Alzheimer’s Disease and tools such as the Assisted Living Cost Calculator.

Helpful Hints: Give consumers professional advice regarding choosing the proper adult care facility and caregiving from a distance.

“Planning for financial security and retirement, and determining how best to care for an aging relative can appear overwhelming. These free resources, however, can help simplify the process and make it manageable,” Timmerman said.
