The American Association for Critical Illness Insurance, Westlake Village, Calif., is looking to hear from insurance agents whose clients have recently received claim benefits as a result of owning critical illness insurance protection.

The product is still relatively new, and AACII wants to put together a collection of real-life stories to help make consumers aware of what the product is, how it works and why it’s important, according to AACII Executive Director Jesse Slome.

The ideal consumers would be those who have received a critical illness insurance claim payment within the past 3 years.

Critical illness insurance pays a tax-free cash benefit upon diagnosis of cancer or another serious health condition, such as a heart attack or stroke.

The first sponsors of the AACII critical illness insurance awareness campaign are MetLife, Standard Life & Accident, Assurity Life, Protective Life and Colorado Bankers.
