Is it unfair to say that women bring different skills to business than men? Jean Brittingham believes it’s not. In fact, she believes that “genderalizations” — making assumptions based on a person’s gender — can be helpful ways of thinking, so long as they are carefully checked for misinformation. What does this mean for female entrepreneurs, who have traditionally been seen as less aggressive (and thus less successful) in business? It means, says Brittingham, that we need to reset our way of thinking. Are women generally less aggressive than men? Yes. Are they less successful? In many cases, no. In fact, the business strength of intuition is a key feminine advantage that will propel many women entrepreneurs to success over the next 25 years.
