Superbad (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart)

As per his comedic style, Jon Stewart took an irreverent tone this week about the Capitol Hill Super Committee tasked with cutting $1.2 trillion in federal spending over the next decade. If the cuts aren’t made, “we lose our inheritance,” Stewart lamented.

He then compared the committee members to super heroes (Sen. John Kerry’s power is talking too much) and pointed out that similar attempts by previous committees to tackle federal budget cuts failed to produce results.

If the committee fails to reach consensus, the members face “sequestration,” which Stewart construed to mean sequestering combined with a procedure painful to the male members of the committee.
