As Bill Mantlo, subject of cover story “Tragic Tale” gradually lost his ability to write, he captured his thoughts in a heart-wrenching journal that shows his battle for rehabilitation was never an easy one. His entry on 2/14/95 is the last personal message he ever wrote. Bill’s legal guardian, his brother Mike, says this document is particularly painful for him to read.
