Carl Richards, who runs Prasada Capital Management in Park City, Utah has found a new method for making complex financial principles understandable to the layman — illustration. For the past several years, Richards has been using a simple black sharpie to illustrate the fundamentals of investing in a straightforward way that is easy for consumers to grasp and that recognizes the emotions involved. His drawings have been a huge hit among both advisors and clients, and they’re becoming increasingly prolific. Richards blogs about personal finance for the New York Times and will publish a book based on his blog early next year.
