Finance Firm Receives Warrant

A finance firm that focuses on the life settlement and structured settlement sectors says it received a search warrant Tuesday.

Imperial Holdings Inc., Boca Raton, Fla. (NYSE:IFT), reports that the warrant was issued by a magistrate judge for the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida.

Imperial believes that it and some of its employees, including its executives, are under investigation in the New Hampshire, the company says.

The investigation appears to relate to the life finance business, the company says.

“During the exercise of the warrant the company fully cooperated,” Imperial says. “There has been no action taken against the company’s structured settlement business.”
