Margaret Bradshaw, CLU, Dies at 106

The oldest living graduate of the American College has died.

Margaret Bradshaw, 106, the fourth woman in the United States to receive the Chartered Life Underwriter designation from the Bryn Mawr, Pa., college, died Aug. 12, the college says.

Bradshaw was born in Rhode Island in 1905 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in Washington.

She started out in the Providence, R.I., office of John Hancock Life Insurance Company in the late 1920s and early 1930s, then spent many decades working and teaching in the life insurance industry.
