Robert Richter to Lead ASPPA

Robert Richter is set to become president of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) in October.

ASPPA, Arlington, Va., represents individuals who provide consulting services and administrative services for retirement plans that qualify for special tax treatment.

Richter, who is based in Jacksonville, Fla., is a vice president in the benefit administration business at the SunGard Relius unit at SunGard Data Systems Inc. He has a law degree from Florida State University and a master of laws in taxation from the University of Florida.

Richter has been a senior vice president at ASPPA and co-chair of ASPPA’s government affairs committee.

The new president-elect is Barry Max Levy.

The other 2011-2012 officers will be David Lipkin, senior vice president; Richard Hochman, vice president; Adam Pozek, vice president; Robert Long, treasurer; and Kyla Keck, secretary.

The immediate past president will be Thomas Finnegan.
