Dan Neil, who played for the Denver Broncos for eight seasons, has joined the life insurance practice at the Austin, Texas, office of Wortham Insurance & Risk Management.

“When I was playing in the NFL, a lot of people tried to sell me a variety of life insurance products,” Neil says. “I was always skeptical because I felt like they were simply trying to make a commission and were not looking out for my best interest. I was drawn to Wortham because of its unique business model, which is one that doesn’t compensate brokers on a commission basis. This allows me to focus on the client’s needs and not my needs. Wortham practices the business approach I respect most — long-term relationships, involvement in the community, and top-notch client service.”

A former University of Texas football player, Neil has been active in the Austin community following his NFL career and hosts a local sports radio program. Neil has two Super Bowl rings from his years with the Broncos.

“We are thrilled to have Dan join our team at Wortham Austin,” says Rob Bridges, managing partner, Wortham-Austin. “Dan exemplifies the kind of person we want representing our clients.”

Wortham is the largest insurance agency in Austin and has been in business in Texas since 1915. It has 525 employees among its five statewide offices.
