What kind of life insurance coverage do you have, and do you feel it is adequate?

I do have life insurance. The insurance I currently own is part of a package from my work. While mine has me taken care of pretty good, there is room to get better policies for my other family members.

I’m covered and so is my wife. But to tell you the truth, I don’t think our coverage is nearly where it should be. I spoke with an advisor a while back and came away from that conversation a little worried. I realize he’s trying to sell me something, but talking with him showed a few gaps in my coverage. I don’t want to leave my family in any tough situation.

I’m glad you didn’t ask me about Ohio State football. I’m a season ticket holder and just about ready to get rid of my tickets I’m so mad about all that’s going on around the team. Anyway, my coverage is solid. We worked it out with an advisor about 10 years ago and then we revisited it last year. We’re in good shape.

My wife and I have real good coverage. I worked in the financial services industry, so I feel like I had a good idea of how to work out our plan. I finally retired last year. I’d wanted to retire in 2008, but had to hang on a while longer after the crash. Maybe it was luck, but working those extra years forced me to go back and take a second look at our coverage and we were able to lock some things down we’d previously missed.
