Bankers Life Increases Forget Me Not Total

Bankers Life and Casualty Company has raised $386,000 for the fight against Alzheimer’s disease through its 2011 Forget Me Not Days event, up from $338,000 in 2010.

Bankers Life, Chicago, a unit of CNO Financial Group Inc., Carmel, Ind. (NYSE:CNO), recruited about 1,000 employees, agents and other volunteers to stand on corners and collect donations.

The campaign reached 150 cities this year, up from about 130 cities in 2010.

This year, volunteers gathered about $286,000 in donations. Bankers Life contributed $100,000 in 2010 and another $100,000 this year.

Bankers Life started the annual fundraiser in 2003. Proceeds go to the Alzheimer’s Association, Chicago.
