Rob Esson, a senior policy fellow for international affairs at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), will participate Thursday in an international accounting standards discussion organized by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The Roundtable on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in the United States will offer a panel of investors, a panel of representatives from smaller companies, and a panel of regulators, according to the SEC.

Esson, who helps represent the NAIC, Kansas City, Mo., at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, Basel, Switzerland, will appear on the regulatory environment panel along with representatives from the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, Nashville, Tenn.
