The National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) reports that some sessions at its upcoming annual convention will focus on topics other than the effects of the Affordable Care Act.
NAHU, Arlington, Va., will start the 2011 convention in San Antonio Sunday.
NAHU has organized an entire compliance track of breakout sessions that will focus mainly on the effects of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA) and related laws and regulations.
PPACA also is affecting many of the sessions in other tracks, such as a session to be led by Jorge Font on the role of personal health account plans and value-based health care purchasing in the age of PPACA.
Becki Wendorf will be taking about strategies for designing self-funded plans to meet the challenges of PPACA.

Other, less PPACA-centric sessions will cover topics such as choosing telephone systems, increasing sales and experimenting with social media services.
