Growth: Phoenix, AmWINS

Phoenix Companies Inc. is expanding its relationship with the AltiSure Group L.L.C. distribution channel.

AltiSure, West Lake Village, Calif., designs and distributes life and annuity products through affiliated independent marketing organizations (IMOs).

The president of AltiSure, Niju Vaswani, previously was chief executive officer of Transamerica Life (Bermuda) Ltd., a unit of AEGON N.V., The Hague, Netherlands (NYSE:AEG).

AltiSure has started distributing a single-premium indexed annuity from Phoenix that offers 4 indexed accounts and an optional guaranteed lifetime withdrawal benefit rider that can also provide an enhanced death benefit, Phoenix says.

AltiSure is the exclusive distributor of the product, Phoenix says.

In other business growth news, AmWINS Group Benefits, Warwick, R.I., a unit of AmWINS Group Inc., Charlotte, N.C., is expanding services for companies that want to switch from offering a traditional retiree health benefits plan to offering a flat retiree health benefits purchase subsidy.

The program can help retirees use the subsidy payments to shift into a plan that resembles the employer’s plan, AmWINS Says.
