Americans seem to be about as capable of saving for retirement as they were a year ago but more nervous about the future.
Country Financial, Bloomington, Ill., has sketched out Americans’ retirement savings worries in a summary of results from a June telephone survey of about 3,000 U.S. adults.
The percentage of participants who said they have been able to set aside money for savings and investment declined only slightly – to 45%, from 46% in June 2010.
The percentage who expressed confident in their ability to send their children to college increased to 58%, from 56%.
