Simmons named president, Washington Wealth Management

john simmonsWashington Wealth Management has hired John Simmons as its new president.

In his new role, Simmons will oversee the firm’s existing branches and lead the expansion of its independent network of financial advisors. He will be based in California, establishing a West Coast presence for the firm.

Simmons, a 24-year industry veteran, has extensive experience establishing new branches and leading regional expansion for companies such as Prudential, Wachovia and Merrill Lynch. Prior to joining Washington Wealth Management, he was managing director and regional director for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, overseeing operations in Southern California, Las Vegas and Hawaii.
