The world’s insurance regulators are joining to form a body – the Supervisory Forum – that will give participants a chance to talk about trends and risks at large insurers.
The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), Basel, Switzerland, created the forum in an effort to improve communication on issues such as determining how general economic trends might affect large or complex insurers or insurance groups, IAIS officials say.
The IAIS has picked Steven Ferguson of the United States to be the forum’s first chairman.
Ferguson has been the assistant director of the Arizona Financial Affairs Division.
