Digital Insurance Buys 2 More Firms

Digital Insurance Inc. has acquired one benefits firm in the Midwest and another benefits firm in the Southwest.

Digital Insurance, Atlanta, has scooped up Employee Benefits by Design Inc., Downers Grove, Ill., and Strategic Benefits Consultants L.L.C., Scottsdale, Ariz.

The principals and employees of both firms will continue to run the agencies, Digital Insurance says.

Digital Insurance started as a Web-based health insurance broker. In recent years, it has been buying many health insurance agencies, brokerage firms and consulting firms.

The two latest deals are the first Digital Insurance has made in the Midwest and the Southwest, the company says.
