Some life insurers’ consumer websites are about 10 times as fast as competitors’ sites.
Analysts at Dalbar Inc., Boston, review life and annuity consumer website speed statistics in the firm’s first-quarter life and annuity trending report.
The slowest consumer site took 6.98 seconds to load during the first quarter, and the fastest site took just 0.64 seconds to load.
The average loading time was 1.9 seconds.
The analysts also looked at the speed of financial professional sites. There, load times ranged from 4.41 seconds to 0.31 seconds, with an average of 2.19 seconds.
The analysts came up with those statistics by checking each site on several occasions at different times of the day and from different geographic locations.
