Lincoln National Corp. will be showing a “major commitment to the group protection business” by investing in developing new products and expanding distribution, the company says.

Lincoln, Radnor, Pa. (NYSE:LNC), says it also will continue to offer “competitive and compelling” annuity products.

Mark Konen, president of what has been named the Lincoln insurance and retirement solutions business, talked about the company’s strategy in an announcement of a new organizational structure for its insurance and retirement solutions business.

“Lincoln is investing heavily in our ability to grow the core businesses while we explore new opportunities that fuel our long-term success,” Konen said in a statement.

Lincoln has brought back Kristen Phillips to be head of strategy and marketing, to help oversee marketing, communications, and product compliance and implementation.

Lincoln also has announced new roles for executives already on its staff.

Rob Grubka will be president of group protection; Brian Kroll, head of annuity solutions; Mike Burns, head of insurance solutions; and Jeff Coutts, head of financial management.
