Vanguard will launch a new educational campaign to focus on indexing as an investment strategy, beginning with a new website due on May 3, the company announced Thursday. The site will provide information and commentary on index investing in one centralized location.

Vanguard will reach out to advisors and clients alike in this educational push, Colin Kelton, principal at Vanguard, told AdvisorOne. Vanguard's efforts will be Web-related, Kelton added.

"It'll be content-heavy," he said. "We'll have articles and video on the history of indexing and a couple of articles on how indexing and active management work together." The push will also cover ETFs, and will include a webcast and research papers on indexing.

Gus Sauter, CIO, VanguardThe Web seminar will be hosted on May 10 with Vanguard's CIO Gus Sauter (left), personal finance columnist Jane Bryant Quinn and Morningstar's research director John Rekenthaler, to discuss investment strategies, including ETFs and alternative weighting methodologies. The webinar, "The Indexing Revolution," will take place at 7 p.m. EST and is open to the public. Registration is at www.vanguard.com/indexwebcastreg.

"We've been indexing for 35 years," Kelton said. "There are new ways to index, and a new audience for that diversification, low-cost story."
