Many U.S. physicians already use electronic health record (EHR) systems during patient exams, and more use EHR systems in their offices, according to an EHR system vendor.
The Tampa, Fla., health care division office of Sage Group P.L.C., Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, has published that finding in a summary of results from a recent online survey of about 7,700 clinical uses of Sage software products.
Sage, a company that sells a wide variety of practice management systems, found that about 42% of its physician office software system users are using an EHR system to document patient encounters, and that about one-third use the systems while they are seeing patients.
