MassMutual has promoted Pamela Beals, FALU, FLMI, CLU, to the position of chief underwriter. Beals will be responsible for overseeing the company’s underwriting discipline, training, policies and guidelines as well as case consultation.
Beals has been with MassMutual since 1990 and joined its life insurance underwriting leadership team in 1999. She holds a bachelor’s in medical technology from Westbrook College and an M.B.A. from Western New England College.
“Pam has a track record of being a strong and successful leader who provides an outstanding level of service to our financial professional community and the policyholders we serve,” said Karen Phelan, MassMutual’s corporate vice president of life insurance underwriting. “Under Pam’s leadership, MassMutual will remain focused on its long standing commitment of continually evaluating and updating its underwriting guidelines and services in coordination with diagnostic and treatment advances.”
