The Washington Group of Northwestern Mutual plans to recruit an additional 35 financial representatives this year.

The company is looking for people from various types of careers, but mostly those who have previously served in professional services, especially in consulting, government, legal and lobbying positions.

“We look forward to another year of robust growth at The Washington Group, and the recruitment of top-notch financial representatives is a key initiative for us in 2011,” says Leo Tucker, pictured, the group’s managing partner. “Working as a financial representative offers flexibility and tremendous career opportunities for people who are in search of an alternative or new professional path.”

Based in McLean, Va., The Washington Group has 85 financial representatives and five additional Washington-area offices, in Fairfax, Leesburg and Reston, Va.; Rockville, Md.; and Washington, D.C. The group has been expanding rapidly, adding 25 financial reps in 2010 alone.
