WASHINGTON BUREAU — Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner may have picked someone to head the new Federal Insurance Office, sources say.

At press time, no one revealed the FIO pick’s name.

In September 2010, the U.S. Treasury Department posted a want ad for the FIO director position stating that the position would be a permanent, full-time position that would pay a salary of $119,554 to $179,700 per year.

The FIO director will get health insurance, life insurance and a chance to buy long term care insurance, officials said in the ad.

Applications were due Oct. 20, 2010.
